The main reason students use Skype is to interact with other students on a personal level. We can therefore conclude that Skype, on a generalised basis, is not useful to students for educational purposes. Students mostly use Whatsapp to coordinate tasks for group projects as this does not require logging onto Skype on a PC or tablet, students can simply text group members on their cell phones which students always have close by.
