Survey Recommendations

In terms of an app being used to help a student organise his or her schedule and stay up to date with work, the iStudiez Pro app would be most highly recommended. This is apparent as the vast majority of survey participants answered that they choose to use this app either to organise their study schedule or to keep up to date with assignments. Other apps such as Dropbox and Penultimate would also be recommended for this use as many participants answered that they use these apps to lower the risk of losing physical notes and to take handwritten notes on an electronic device thereby lowering the risk of losing work. However, Skype would not be recommended for organising and coordinating work as the majority of participants use Skype to interact socially rather than for work purposes.

Using an iCloud storage like Dropbox is certainly a good idea for students as it can be used for many different purposes. In the survey, none of the four advantages given for using the app received a very high percentage as different people prefer different aspects of the app. For the purpose of taking notes, the Penultimate app would be recommended as most participants answered that they use the app either to take handwritten notes or to draw graphs or illustrations that can’t be typed.

In terms viewing PDF documents, Adobe Reader would be recommended as over two thirds of participants answered that Adobe Reader satisfies their needs of viewing PDF files.
